3. Record the outcome

Mark the descriptions that fit. Record the actual matching fields, dates and gaps below.

  • Matching details; status shown as current. Record the source’s status and validity as observed on your inspection date. Match the exact product, formulation and market. A missing package-lot match stays unverified.
  • Matching details; historical or expired record. An old match does not establish current certification. Record the past period and any expiry or withdrawal stated.
  • Some details differ. Describe the product, formulation, region, size or batch difference. Do not treat a similar name as an exact match.
  • No matching record found. Record the directory and search used. This does not prove the product is unsafe or that no valid record exists elsewhere.
  • Source unavailable or unclear. Keep the outcome unknown. Do not fill a missing result with an assumption.

4. Questions before relying on the claim

  1. Does this record cover this exact product, formulation and market?
  2. Does it cover the package lot supplied, or a different sample?
  3. Can you obtain the original source or report, including its date and scope?
  4. Which claims are independently supported, and which are manufacturer statements?
